Aspire Restaurant Opens at Hotel Providence
Aspire at the Hotel Providence opened its doors on June 6. It is located in the space formerly occupied by L’Epicureo. With a menu of contemporary American cuisine and a bar that sets the stage for an entertaining evening, Aspire “aspires” to be the newest hot spot for dining and socializing.

John Nazarian Tribute at Rhode Island College
On June 20, family and friends celebrated John Nazarian with music, entertainment, and tributes to the Rhode Island College President who retired after a 58-year association with the college. He is RIC’s longest serving president.

Twin River Hosts Rhody 5K Road Race
On June 1, Twin River hosted the annual Rhody 5K Road Race for the ninth consecutive year. A record breaking 1,000+ entrants participated while sponsorships raised $80,500 for local charities.

Federal Hill Stroll
The Providence Warwick Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Federal Hill Commerce Association held the ninth annual Federal Hill Stroll, sponsored in part by Rhode Island Monthly. On the hot day of June 10, attendees strolled through one of Providence’s most cultural neighborhoods, while sampling signature cuisine and cold drinks.

Villa de Moda’s Cosmetics Party
Tasty cocktails and fabulous sale items were enjoyed by many at Villa de Moda on June 12. Stila Cosmetics brought color to the evening with free makeovers.

The Verrazano Day Committee Chooses Man of the Year
Pawtucket Red Sox President Mike Tamburro was honored on May 16 with the Man of the Year award at the Verrazano Day’s annual gala. The committee raises funds for scholarships in the name of the Italian explorer who first sailed into Narragansett Bay.
