Happy Second Birthday StyleWeek!
It’s time to rock that new frock (Oh, and book a last-minute hair appointment, spray tan, facial wax, what have you). You’ll want to look your best for this Saturday evening, June 9, as StyleWeek celebrates its two-year anniversary with The Ascension of Style from 6-9 p.m. at the RISD Museum. Anyone is invited to go, but you do have to buy a $30 ticket to attend, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Gabrielle’s Heart Camp to help children with heart disease or congenital heart defects.
The theme of the soiree is Four Seasons, and each corner of the room will represent summer, fall, winter or spring with past and present StyleWeek designer looks on display, corresponding with the season. That being said, don’t show up in snow boots and a parka, please! There will be a live band on site, and your ticket includes your first cocktail and hors d' oeuvres. There will be an additional cash bar, if you’re extra thirsty.
While we’re talking StyleWeek, it makes sense to start planning our outfits for the week of fashion shows that will take place Aug. 26-Sept. 1. Did you know that the designers sell clothing to the public, and that they can create custom designs just for you? If you act fast, you might be able to sport something by Jonathan Joseph Peters, Marcel Plante, Jessica Abernethy or Kent Stetson. Just click the hyperlinks to go to their websites, where you can contact them individually about custom work.
There. We spilled it. Now hurry up. Or else someone else might be rocking your frock…
