Summer Steals

Everybody eats out more in the summer. So to offset our insatiable out-to-dinner, out-for-drinks habit, we went in search of some of the state's best dining deals. The five below were published in the June edition of The Dish, but we're hungry for more. If you know of any, clue us in in the comments section. Summer Steals

DeWolf Tavern Super Sunday, indeed. Twenty-eight bucks gets you a three-course prix-fixe lunch or dinner. Start with salad or soup, followed by filet or tandoor oven-roasted lobster, and finish the feast with a scoop of homemade ice cream or sorbet. Plus, you get a glass of house wine or draught beer -- not to mention a nice view of Bristol Harbor. 259 Thames St., Bristol, 254-2005.

 XO Café Monday is typically industry night, and XO is toasting the tradition. Pop the cork on any one of their seventy-five bottles for half price. Score a bottle of David Bruce pinot for $24 or go big (and bold) with a Jordan cab for $47. 125 North Main St., Providence, 273-9090.

 New Rivers Tuesday nights at New Rivers it's a buck a shuck. Dollar oyster night has gained a cult following, so arrive early to score a coveted seat at the bar. Each week features two to four types of the beloved briny bivalves. 7 Steeple St., Providence, 751-0350.

 Rhino Bar & Grille Wednesday is the new Friday. At "Fajita and Ritas" night at Rhino Bar, all-you-can-eat fajitas go for $12.95 to $14.95 and margaritas are $4. The fun runs from 5 to 10:30 p.m. 337 Thames St., Newport, 846-0707.

 Waterman Grille As if we needed another reason to belly up to the bar. From 4 to 6 p.m. during the week (Monday through Friday), apps are half-price in the lounge area. The selection is deep -- wood fired pizza, calamari, barbecue chicken nachos, oysters Rockefeller -- and the water view comes gratis. 4 Richmond Square, Providence, 521-9229.
