StyleWeek Northeast: Red on the Runway
StyleWeek Northeast teamed up again with the American Heart Association for a benefit in honor of people who have been affected by heart disease. This time, designers created ensembles for doctors, a nurse, a firefighter, several people who lost family members to heart disease or experienced it themselves, and StyleWeek founder Rosanna Ortiz Sinel's father, a heart attack survivor.
Judges were tasked with deciding the winning design:
The winner? Designer Kara Wickman. She dressed Mary Velardo, who lost her husband to a sudden heart attack in 2009, in a patterned corset and skirt.
The other models were:
Lisa Connolly
Dr. Sara Ford
Tara Wood
Dr. Michael Gilson
Louise Dinsmore
Jill Andy
Mike Mernick
Paul Brooks
Martin Ortiz
StyleWeek continues through Saturday night at the Providence Biltmore.
