Runway Recap: StyleWeek Day 2
Feminine designs commanded the runway last night at StyleWeek Providence.
Rhode Island designer Maria Del Carmen Mercado showcased some show-stopping pieces from her Superior collection. Feminine, but with an edge, Maria's collection was inspired by real women with curves. Here are some of our favorite pieces:
Boston-based designer Sara Derfus of Svelte Sara showcased Concrete Forest, a collection inspired by the places she's lived and traveled. All of the designs were equally ready-to-wear, with simple cuts and clean lines that would flatter most body types. Below are some of our favorite pieces from the collection:
Tonight's fashion festivities will include an accessory showcase by Warren retailer Blue Suede and SEED, StyleWeek's inaugural student design competition featuring up-and-coming designers from URI, Brown, RISD, MassArt, Boston School of Fashion Design and Lasell College.
