The P Bruins

Jan 25, 2010 - 11:50 AM

My daughter and I, as part of a fundraiser for her school's PTO, hit the Dunk yesterday afternoon for what was, for both of us, our first ice hockey game. It was great! Didn't hurt that the Providence Bruins won 3-0, of course, but it was fun just to watch the fast action on the ice, flag down the cotton candy man, and dance for the fan cam. And the half-time children's game was precious.
But even all that fun was entirely overshadowed by the miracle of finding a free street parking space right opposite the Dunk! It's a sad comment on the downtown parking situation that THAT is what I was still gloating about this morning, not all those handsome men slamming each other against walls. I'll put the $10 saved into my daughter's college fund and, while still rejoicing, know that it's January and I've already used up my one parking pass of the year...

"And the half-time children's game was precious."

maybe by the time you go to your next hockey game you'll figure out that there is no half-time in hockey.
